FLOYD MAYWEATHER WINS

****************

PREDICTIONS FROM ESTEEMED BOXING WRITERS

Michael Amakor - Fightkings - My heart tells me Oscar cause he is bigger, stronger and has faced better opposition , my mind tells me Mayweather cause of his speed, defense and activity while Oscar has been semi-retired. There are so many intangibles that I am torn in predicting a winner. I will opt instead for a draw that will open up our wallets for a rubber match.

Jane Amakor - FightKings.Com - Oscar will Win

Brian Bizzack, Amatoboxing - "I like Oscar by close (and perhaps controversial and split!) decision. I don't think the fight will be a 'barn-burner', but a strategically compelling bout that will maintain our interest throughout."

Robert Mccinnis, FightKings.com - After considering it all and being a true and loyal Oscar Delahoya fan, and although the odds are against him I am going with Oscar by split decision.

Robert Mccinnis (5/4/07)FightKings.com - Oscar Dela Hoya by TKO in the 5th, you heard it here first.

Kevin Iole, Yahoo Sports- Mayweather by decision: Floyd is too quick and too smart defensively to allow himself to get caught by Oscar's left hook. Oscar has always had difficulty with quick opponents who give him movement. Floyd will frustrate him and win a clear unanimous decision.

Ted "The Bull" Sares- Eastsideboxing.com - If Floyd punishes and frustrates De la Hoya with quick in-and-out movement, he will prevail. Styles make fights, and the styles here suggest a less than exciting bout. PBF's overall skill-set and career momentum will result in a UD victory.

Phillip, Amatoboxing - Money on Floyd, Heart with Oscar. Floyd will be on his bike until he feels Oscar slow down then he'll look to sit down on his punches. Oscar legs are old and he will feel Floyds percise body attack. It won't be a left hook that gets Floyd, it will be a sneak lead straight right hand if he times it. I think it will be to hard to find that chicken running around the ring ala RJ Jr. Don't be surprised if its a boring fight. I've been saying it since it was announced.

Olabisi Olaniyan, Fightkings - Mayweather will win

Jim Slater, AFP - Mayweather by Split Decision

"It's this close in the final rounds but Mayweather finishes well to take it."

Greg Beacham, Associated Press - Mayweather in 6

"Too fast, too smart, too unhittable. It's his moment in time and his best chance to transcend the sport. Pretty Boy won't blow it. He might even do something spectacular."

Tim Dahlberg, Associated Press - Mayweather by Decision

" Oscar has a puncher's chance with his left hook and there are questions about the durability of Mayweather's often injured right hand. But Mayweather is quicker and a great defensive fighter, and he figures to frustrate De La Hoya. That could make for a boring fight, but one that Mayweather will win."

T.K. Stewart, Bangor Daily News - Mayweather by Decision

" I like Mayweather by decision. Although Oscar won impressively against Mayorga, he was caught clean several times and he looked heavy on his feet to me. A De La Hoya victory would be the best thing for boxing in my opinion, but I just don't see it transpiring."

Mike Hirsley, Chicago Tribune - Mayweather by Decision

"Each man has his strengths, but I see Mayweather's edge in speed as the determining factor, especially in the later rounds."

Mario Concha, El Diario - De La Hoya TKO in 10

David Cummings, ESPN the Magazine - Mayweather by unanimous decision

" I think Floyd is a superior boxer and he has been waiting for a big fight like this his entire career. For Oscar I feel that this is more of a business decision than a fight decision."

Dan Rafael, ESPN.com - Mayweather Decision

Bert Sugar, Expert Boxing Historian - Mayweather Decision

" However, I've got it so close that I can see Oscar winning. I think that Oscar can hurt Floyd but Floyd can't hurt Oscar."

David Mayo, Grand Rapids Press - Mayweather

"De La Hoya is a live underdog, but athleticism and activity are hard to beat. Mayweather has risen to the occasion from the time he was 16 years old, went to the 1993 National Golden Gloves without an open amateur bout, and won it. I'll take the boxer-businessman over the businessman-boxer."

Keith Idec, Herald News - Mayweather unanimous decision

"Floyd is too fast, too smart, too technically sound and is more motivated than ever now that he has the opportunity he always wanted."

Rafael Ramos, La Opinion - Oscar in 9

"If Oscar does not win by the 9th round, Floyd will win."

Robert Morales, Los Angeles Daily News - De La Hoya by Decision

"Because of all of Mayweather's trash talk, De La Hoya is in that special frame of mind where he just does not lose. Some fighters don't perform well with this kind of psyche, but De La Hoya is at his best under these circumstances. All he has to do is land that left hook on the chin once and it will change the complexion of the fight. As good as Mayweather is defensively, De La Hoya has enough patience to ride out the storm until he has the perfect moment to strike. It wouldn't shock me to see De La Hoya stop Mayweather late."

Bill Dwyre , Los Angeles Times - Mayweather, 10th Round

"I think De La Hoya's best chance is to land something early. The biggest unknown is Freddie Roach, and what different approaches he has taken while preparing Oscar."

Lance Pugmire, Los Angeles Times - De La Hoya by Decision

Steve Springer, Los Angeles Times - De La Hoya in 11 by TKO

"De La Hoya 11 Round TKO because Oscar is confident that Floyd doesn't have the power to hurt him. He will cut him down the ring, and wear him down with body shots. "

Tim Smith, New York Daily News – Mayweather 12 round decision

"Mayweather is faster and I think his speed is the major difference between him and De La Hoya. It is also the determining factor in the match. That makes Mayweather harder to hit. I don't think Mayweather has the power to stop De La Hoya, but he has the boxing ability to win a decision. Mayweather 12 round decision."

George Willis, New York Post - Mayweather by Decision

" Younger, faster, hungrier."

Richard Sandomir, New York Times - De La Hoya by Decision

Marcus Henry , Newsday - Mayweather by Split Decision

"Floyd Mayweather will win a split decision. While Oscar De La Hoya proved is mettle against Mayorga, Mayweather's quickness and defense will probably be too much for him to overcome. De La Hoya will make him work for it."

Sergio Abarca, Notimex - De La Hoya by KO

"I have covered 17 fights of De La Hoya, and I know him well. I think he has the skills and punch to knockout Mayweather. De La Hoya is stronger than Floyd."

Carlos Gonzalez, Primera Hora - Mayweather by Decision

"The way I see it, De La Hoya is going to look good in the first couple of rounds because of the adrenaline and he is going to feed off of the energy of the fans. We have to see if his condition will hold up for the 12 rounds. Mayweather will win by close decision."

Mike Indri, Retired Boxers Foundation - Mayweather by TKO

"In what will be the biggest, and most profitable, non-heavyweight fight of all-time Floyd Mayweather will prove just how "Flamboyant", and how truly GREAT he really is!The speed will be the difference, and while De La Hoya will come up short in this one, he won't be a loser - with all the money he will be making from this historic bout. "Flamboyant" Floyd Mayweather defeats Oscar De La Hoya via late round TKO."

John Whistler, San Antonio Express News - Mayweather by Decision

"If he doesn't fade in the latter rounds, De La Hoya could make it interesting. But Mayweather's speed will win out, by close decision."

Richard Hoffer, Sports Illustrated - Mayweather by Decision

"Mayweather is too fast."

Brian Doogan, Sunday Times - De La Hoya

Norm Frauenheim, The Arizona Republic - De La Hoya in 9 by TKO

"Oscar De La Hoya wins a ninth-round stoppage. Floyd Mayweather will go into the late round with a big lead on the judges' scorecards. In an attempt to score an in impressive victory, he'll try go for the knocout. That's when a bigger De la Hoya will hurt him enough to win by TKO."

Franklin McNeil, The Star Ledger - Mayweather by unanimous decision

"De La Hoya is the bigger, stronger guy who has a tremendous left hook -- but he does not have one-punch knockout power. His most difficult fights were against a quick-handed opponent (Shane Mosley) and an elusive one (Pernell Whitaker). Mayweather possesses Mosley's hand speed, Whitaker's elusiveness and unmatched stamina. Plus Mayweather can match, maybe even surpass, De La Hoya's ring intelligence. This will prove too much for De La Hoya to overcome. Mayweather wins by unanimous decision."

Rafael Hernandez Brito, Univision Radio - De La Hoya by Decision

"De La Hoya's size will be a big factor."

Chuck Johnson , USA Today - Mayweather by Decision

"Oscar has been the pound-for-pound best. Floyd is the pound-for-pound best now. In a great fight, the Pretty Boy beats the Golden Boy by decision to stay unbeaten."

Thom Loverro, Washington Times - Mayweather by Decision

" It is hard not to pick the younger, faster fighter, so I have to go with Floyd Mayweather. He is as talented a fighter that has come along, well, since a young Oscar De La Hoya, and has a good sense of ring presence. I don't think he will get drawn into a slugfest. If Oscar can win, it will have to be by imposing his size and strength, since Floyd is moving up. I pick Mayweather by a decision."

PREDICTIONS FROM BOXING CHAMPIONS

"De La Hoya has the stronger punch. Mayweather is not used to facing bigger men. [ Carlos] Baldomir didn't have the talent of De La Hoya and Mayweather couldn't finish him. If De La Hoya cuts him early, Mayweather is going to be limited. De La Hoya by decision.'' Roberto Duran, Former World Champion

"As far as my prediction, I lean toward Oscar. I've changed my mind a couple of times. But Oscar has a little bit more desire, strength, size. Oscar has never one that big one, the most defining moment in his career. I think that this allows him to rise to the occasion. But if Mayweather wins then he can be called great, because right now it's premature, but if he beats Oscar that label fits him fine." Sugar Ray Leonard, Former World Champion

"I'm looking forward to seeing De La Hoya and Mayweather on May 5th. I think is going to be a great fight and it's a fight that's good for boxing, but I think Floyd's speed and youth will work well for him in this fight. I think the fight will go 12 rounds with Floyd winning a close decision over De La Hoya." Jermain Taylor, Middleweight Champion

"…On paper you would have to say that Oscar comes into this fight having all of the intangible advantages experience, power, quality of opposition, and I believe maybe just a bit more focused for the job at hand. In order to counter those advantages you're gonna need someone with natural God given talent and ability. That is when a fighter as gifted as Floyd Mayweather has a great chance of over coming all the advantages with raw speed and the will to win at all cost. I like his chances, so your guess is as good as mine." Antonio Tarver, Former Light Heavyweight Champion

"I think De La Hoya's naturally bigger size is going to make a difference. I think Oscar will dominate Floyd with his left jab that will carry him to a decision victory." Juan Diaz, WBA, Lighweight Champion

"De La Hoya vs. Mayweather will be a great fight, it will go the distance, and I think Oscar has a slight edge, but I do not know who will win." Vernon Forrest, Former Welterweight Champion

DE LA HOYA VS MAYWEATHER MAY 5 MEGA-BOUT

LAS VEGAS, NV (May 1, 2007)…Everyone is talking and weighing in on the outcome of the Oscar De La Hoya vs Floyd Mayweather "The World Awaits" mega-bout Saturday, May 5 at MGM Grand in Las Vegas live on HBO Pay-Per-View. From "The Donald" to Miami Heat's "D Wade," find out what the celebrities, professional athletes and fellow pugilists are saying about the hottest and most highly anticipated bout in boxing history.

"Oscar has always been under-rated—he will win!" Donald J. Trump

"That right there is going to be ... that's a good one cause a lot of times everybody counts De La Hoya out. He's always the underdog. And he's at his best when everyone counts him out. I think this is gonna be one of the biggest challenges for Mayweather. I mean I think it's gonna be a tough fight. I can't pick a winner on this one. I really can't. I'm not gonna bet on it. I'm just gonna go there and enjoy it." Hip-hop mogul Diddy

Hmmmmmmhmmmm, De La Hoya." A drian Grenier, Entourage (Vince Chase)

"Mayweather has a huge edge in a few key areas—speed and defense being two. Floyd is closer to the prime of his career and Oscar is way past his. I like the fact that Oscar was willing to take this fight. It would be a great story if he should stop Mayweather. Mayweather will be just too much for him to handle though. It might go the distance with a small percentage of a TKO in the late rounds. Win to Mayweather." Dale Earnhardt Jr., Professional Race Car Driver, NASCAR Nextel Cup

"I love both of them…Oscar." Chris Tucker, Actor

"Mayweather." Lebron James, NBA All Star, Cleveland Cavaliers Forward

"Oh man, you know, that's a tough one you know because Mayweather may be the pound for pound best. But I love Oscar and I love his heart. I'm gonna have to go with Oscar. I want De La Hoya and I'm not a gambling man because I bet with my heart, so I say De La Hoya." Jeremy Piven, Entourage (Ari Gold)

"I think De La Hoya upsets everybody and I think De La Hoya knocks out Mayweather. And there I said it, and you can play it before and after the fight because that is what's gonna happen. I'm gonna say the 8th round." Kevin Connolly, Entourage (E)

"I think its gonna be crazy. Floyd has the complete package but I think it's going to be one of the biggest tests of his career. I think this could be one of those moments that defines his legacy and what it is he wants to be recognized for after he's done fighting. And I think its one of those fights. Then you talk about Oscar who's just a warrior. He always comes through in the clutch you know when you think you can count him out he pulls it off. I will say that I think Floyd has the best chance but I'm not counting Oscar out. Rap Star Nelly

"I think its gonna be a great fight. At first when I heard about the fight I thought Mayweather, but now I'm not so sure. I'm not pulling for either now. I'm just ready to see a battle." Reggie Bush, Running Back, New Orleans Saints

"Mayweather is going to win. Pound for pound he's the best. And I like his style, he is young, rich, and flamboyant. I like the fact that he is confident. And his drive and passion for what he does. Plus DeLaHoya can't take the speed. That's what's going to kill him." Bow Wow

"You know Mayweather, he's one of the greats. But two of the greats are going to be in there and it's gonna be a tussle for sure. Neither one of them are gonna go down. De La Hoya he doesn't fall to easy so you know he's gonna make it a fight. By the 11th round, I'll pick whose side I'm on." Robert Wisdom, Actor, The Wire (Howard "Bunny Colvin)

"Floyd wins because he is young and hungry. The fight will be close and goes the distance because Oscar raises his game to the level of his opponents and the challenge especially when he fights in his weight class. Both are too good to allow the other to dominate." Barry Sanders, NFL Hall Of Fame Running Back, Detroit Lions

"I'm a big boxing fan so hopefully I'll be there. Man it's tough, you know. It's hard to go against Floyd because he hasn't lost a fight and he's pound-for-pound the best fighter in the world. And I think Oscar's gotta have a good game plan against Floyd. If he does that, I think he'll have a chance. But I'm gonna go with Floyd." Ladainian Tomlinson, Running Back, San Diego Chargers

"They are both legendary fighters in this game, but neither one can beat Bernard Hopkins." Rasheed Wallace, Forward, Detroit Pistons

"Mayweather is the best fighter of this era. He has overcome adversity, works hard, and will win on Saturday night." Caron Butler, NBA All Star, Washington Wizards Forward

"I love Mayweather. I think he's absolutely the closest thing in the last 20 years to Muhammed Ali you know. I just love the dance. I mean I really think he's very skilled. I was very impressed with him. I saw him fight Gatti for the first time in Jersey, in AC, and I'm telling you, one minute he was on this side of him the next minute Gatti's face was all torn up and he was on the other side of him. I think this fight can go the distance. I'm not expecting a short fight, so I'm looking forward to it. Sonja Sohn, Actor, The Wire (Detective Shakima "Kima" Greggs)

"De La Hoya-Mayweather will be the biggest fight that we have ever known. Literally anyone in this generation will ever know. Mayweather is a huge contender and he's undefeated. De La Hoya he's the golden boy. It's gonna be amazing." Nick Stahl, Actor

"I don't know much about boxing but it's hard not to be fascinated with all the intrigue of this fight. You know with Mayweather's dad being formerly De La Hoya's trainer. And I just think Oscar's a fascinating guy. He's so low hey. He's a singer. He's pretty. And then you know he just kicks your but. He's amazing to watch. He's one of the few guys I'd pay to watch anytime anywhere. So um anytime De La Hoya's in the ring, I'll turn it on. So I think its gonna be De La Hoya just on heart alone and I think it will be a decision." James Denton, Actor, Desperate Housewives (Mike Delfino)

"I think I gotta go with Mayweather. I think youth will win out come May 5th. You know, Oscar, I've been a big fan of his. But I don't know if he's ever met anybody that's got the skill that Mayweather does. You got two great fighters. and I think its one of the fights fans have been waiting to see for a long time. It's almost like a throwback to the great fights when I was growing up and used to watch with my dad." James Pickens Jr., Actor, Grey's Anatomy (Richard Webber)

"Mayweather is going to dominate the whole fight. He's going to knock De La Hoya out." Willis McGahee, Running Back, Baltimore Ravens

"I gotta go with Floyd Mayweather Jr. He's one of the best, pound for pound. De La Hoya's getting a little old. I'm gonna go with Floyd." Vernon Wells, Center Field, Toronto Blue Jays

"Oscar De La Hoya is going to take this one. He's a boxing legend and it could be his last fight. He's going out on top." Justin Verlander, Pitcher, Detroit Tigers

"This event will be a clash of the titans… Pretty Boy Floyd has an undying will to be an all-time great and will refuse to lose. Mayweather wins." Jalen Rose, Guard/Forward, Phoenix Suns Guard

"I think it's going to be a really good, closely-contested fight, but I'm going with Mayweather in a decision." Alex Smith, Quarterback, San Francisco 49ers

"They don't call you the best in the world unless you can back it up. Mayweather without a doubt. He's so fast and elusive in the ring. Oscar is not going to be able to pull this one off." Justin Morneau, First Baseman, Minnesota Twins

"Mayweather's speed and power will be too much for Oscar to handle. Oscar is tough and prideful...this will work against him as he'll be standing toe-to-toe and taking Mayweather's best shots. Mayweather in a unanimous decision. Oscar hits the canvas at least once." Julius Jones, Running Back, Dallas Cowboys

"Actually I was just bowling with Floyd not too long ago. So I'm bankin on my boy Floyd. He's an incredible athlete. He's tough in the ring. I've seen him in action plenty of times. I expect him to pull out another victory." Alonzo Mourning, Center, Miami Heat

DE LA HOYA PICKS FREDDIE ROACH AS HIS NEW TRAINER

 By Michael Amakor

Ending months of speculation, Oscar de la Hoya tapped experienced Freddie Roach as the man in his corner for his mega WBC Light Middleweight  title defense fight against universally acknowledged pound for pound challenger Floyd Mayweather during a media conference call. Roach replaces Floyd Mayweather Snr who incidentally is the father of the young Floyd,.

This change of his guards did not proceed smoothly as he would have liked, as it was widely reported in the press that there was haggling over money, or a stated demand for a respectable two million dollar fee as Mayweather Snr will caustically point out to you straight faced. Oscar reiterated during his conference call that his decision to get Roach was not about money, he simply did not want the unneeded distractions of fighting his trainers son. He chose Roach so he could be 100% focused on this fight "the most important of my career", he remarked.

However this plays out in the media, expect fireworks when these two titans clash in the ring. Things could get really interesting pre-fight if Mayweather Jnr decides to put old grudges aside and wisely invite dad to his corner so he can tap the wealth of inside knowledge his father could give him about Oscar to improve his training regimen. A new tag line "This is Personal not Business" could be used to hype the fight. Stay tuned.

OSCAR DE LA HOYA vs FLOYD MAYWEATHER

WILL THIS BE THE END OF THE GOLDEN ROAD ?                 By Jim Amato

February 23, 2007 - I really can not remember ever rooting for Oscar De La Hoya to win a fight. He was the Olympic " Golden Boy " who was turning professional and was going to become the next Sugar Ray Leonard. The hype, the ever present smug smile were just too much for me to take. Things just seemed to come too easily for Oscar. Yes he rang up his winning streak and even captured the WBO junior lightweight title in 1994. Four months later he stopped Jorge Paez to win the WBO lightweight title. He beat the stuffing out of Lorain, Ohio's Carl " Stuff " Griffith but by 1995 Oscar had yet to meet a serious challenge.

Finally the quality of Oscar's opposition improved. He beat John John Molina, Genaro Hernandez, Rafael Ruelas and Jesse James Leija. In 1996 he halted Mexican legend Julio Cesar Chavez in a bloody affair to win the WBC junior welterweight title. Ten months later he met soon to be Hall Of Famer Pernell Whitaker for the WBC welterweight title. Although the scores were 115-111 and 116-110 ( twice ) for Oscar, a lot of people thought Whitaker had done enough to keep his title.

The Golden Express kept moving along. There were wins over Hector Camacho, Chavez in a rematch, Ike Quartey and Oba Carr. Then in 1999 came his showdown with Puerto Rican hero Felix " Tito " Trinidad. I wanted Tito to win this fight so badly. Trinidad was a tremendous puncher and I wanted him to wipe that golden smile from Oscar's face. On this night though Oscar fought the fight of his life and he boxed Felix silly for eight rounds. Finally Trinidad started to come on. Oscar even danced the last few rounds away feeling he had a comfortable lead but in the end Tito got the verdict but I still feel Oscar got robbed. Continue

FIGHT ANALYSIS

By Michael Amakor

In a fight labeled “Thunder versus Lightening”, Floyd Mayweather steps up in weight to challenge legendary Arturo Gatti for the WBC Light Welterweight (154lbs) belt on June 26 at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City in a bout to be televised on HBO pay per view.

Mayweather, at only twenty-eight, has already amassed a stellar record of thirty three victories, which includes knocking out twenty of his foes before the final bell. He is a highly skilled and technically superior boxer, who has been consistently ranked by Ring Magazine as one of the top ten, best boxer in the world today. He remains “undefeated” to date “against A class fighters” as he usually pontificates during pre-fight interviews before his fights. But the verbal exchange between these two combatants has degenerated to an ugly state as misunderstood comments, and protracted fight negotiations between the two camps have fuelled the fire. CAN ACELINO OUT BOX THE " BULL " ?

By Jim Amato

April 26, 2007 - This Saturday at The Foxwoods in Connecticut there will be a lightweight unification fight between WBO title holder Acelino Freitas and WBA kingpin Juan Diaz. Freitas of Brazil was a long time WBO Super Featherweight champion. He failed to win the WBO lightweight title in his first attempt when he was halted by the dangerous Diego Corrales in 2004. The now 31 year old Freitas claimed the vacated WBO crown in 2006 with a split decision over the slick Zahir Raheem.

The 23 year old Juan Diaz was born in Mexico but fights out of Houston, Texas. He is undefeated in thirty one fights and he has held the WBA version of the title since beating Lavka Kim in 2004. He has made five successful defenses. Between the two fighters their combined record is 69-1 !

Freitas of Brazil has scored thirty two knockouts. Thirteen have come in the first round. He is a fast handed boxer who is also quite nimble on his feet. His most significant victory was a close decision over Joel Casamayor in 2002 but his most exciting battle was the war he waged with Jorge Barrios in 2003. What a great fight that finally ended in the twelfth round with Acelino as the winner. Continue

FLASHBACK TO JULY 5TH 2005

RICARDO MAYORGA VS OSCAR DE LA HOYA

Oscar De La Hoya Stops Mayorga

OSCAR STOPS MAYORGA

By Michael Amakor

July 6, 2006 - Boxing fans were treated to another brilliant performance at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas on May 6th, as Oscar De La Hoya, popularly known as the golden boy, despite a twenty month joy filled absence away from the ring, needed only six rounds to decapitate the hydra headed, trash talking, Ricardo Mayorga, and seize his WBC Light Middleweight belt to add to his sizeable collection of trophies.

Most boxing analysts, including myself, were believed that Oscar might have been taking on more than he could chew too soon by challenging Mayorga, a fighter known for his wild power-punching slugging tactics that once caught Vernon Forest and Trinidad off guard sending them down to the canvas. Our fears were unfounded as Oscar unleashed his vintage left hook combinations that dropped Mayorga in the very first round, he then proceeded to brutalize the overmatched Mayorga down the stretch, firing laser guided bombs that ended suddenly with a barrage of punches that battered Mayorga against the ropes in the sixth round forcing Jay Nady to jump in and stop the one sided slugfest at the 1:25 mark.

As is typical, after most feuds after a fight, the beaten Mayorga apologized to a gracious Oscar De la Hoya for all the horrible invectives he heaped on him to draw him out of his skin for this fight. This knew found respect is always preceded after receiving a sound beating, he has now tasted first hand, the destructive power of Oscar punches that have garnered him so many accolades over the years.I believe Mayorga is now convinced that Oscar is the real deal for him to apologize so soon after the fight, the ignomy of this defeat and the pain in his body must have convinced him not show up for post fight press conference afterwards.

This fight exemplifies the superiority of pure skill over sheer will, and this will no doubt be one of the most notable victories in Oscar's career which will be elevated to a higher plateau if he follows through with speculations of fighting Mayweather Jr or the winner of the Winky Wright vs Jermaine Taylor showdown. If he wins any of those fights, he will become more than the living legend that he already is.

On my part, I have no doubt that he will give a good account of himself against any of them if these fights ever happen, but I would advise him to regain his rhythm against another B class opponent before stepping up to the A game of the winner of the Winky Wright vs. Jermain Taylor showdown, or Floyd Mayweather for that matter. Both of these guys are capable of giving him a boxing clinic, if he rides up against them too soon and ill prepared as Felix Trinidad found out to his chagrin.

Nevertheless, this is Oscar's ninth title seizure in six weight divisions, his record has now improved to a solid 38 wins, 4 losses, including stopping 34 top flight foes inside the distance. Simply Amazing.
