[October 10, 2015 – Ringside by Pattee Mak, Lowell, Massachusetts] Premier Boxing Champions (PBC)held another exciting card at the historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium on NBCSN promoted by DiBella Entertainment in association with Murphys Boxing.
The main event captured Gabriel “Tito” Bracero of Brooklyn in a rematch against local Danny “Bhoy” O’Connor.
Bracero didn’t waste any time looking for the knockout and when he saw it all he had to do was shoot with an overhand right on O’Connor, Bracero connected the punch and drove O’Connor to canvas at 41 seconds into round 1 of 10. O’Connor hit his head extremely hard on the canvas. Paramedics could have moved a bit more quickly to the ring.
The first bout took place on April 8, 2011 in Texas with Bracero winning by UD.
O’Connor weighed in at 146.2 and Bracero 146.8
Bracero increases his record to 24-2 and O’Connor decreases to 26-3.
Co-Main Event:
Super bantamweight Jonathan “Salomon King” Guzman ofLawrence, Massachusetts fought a 10 round bout against Danny Aquino of Meriden, Connecticut. Round 2 Guzman lands left hook on Aquino and drops him to the canvas. Aquino doesn’t stay down but springs back up. Guzman continues on with combinations and the ref Jack Morrell gives the court for a 2nd time but Guzman couldn’t finish Aquino with the knockdown. [I heard Guzman hurt his hand during this round] Aquino isn’t looking to good. During the start of round 3 Aquino recovers quickly and is back in action. Round 9 of 10 Guzman lands a right hand and a hook on Aquino and the referee stopped the bout at 1:19. Guzman just dominated the fight and picked his punches correctly. Guzman increases to 20-0, 20 Ko’s and Aquino decreases to 17-3, 10 Ko’s.
10 round Featherweights: Another local and fan favorite Ryan “The Polish Prince” Kielczewski fought an exciting fight against Rafael “Dynamite” Vazquez. In the beginning rounds Vazquez was not busy enough against Kielczewski. Kielczewski was the busier fighter, connecting his punches well. While Vazquez was waiting for the knockout to come and continued on with the left hook. In the end Vasquez suffered a bloody nose and Kielczweski had to get stiches in two different places near his eye. Kielczweski wins by UD. The judges scored the bout 96-94; 97-93 and 97-93.
8 ROUNDS – SUPER LIGHTWEIGHTS Steve Ormond vs. Michael Clark. Round 1 Clark goes down twice due to a body shot and retired at 1:49. Ormond wins by TKO.
10 ROUNDS – LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHTS Gary “Spike” O’Sullivan vs. David Toribio. O’Sullivan not taking it easy on Toribio only needed 2 rounds to complete his task especially finishing him off with a body shot at .49 seconds into round 2.
4 ROUNDS – LIGHTWEIGHTS Titus Williams vs. Arthur Parker. Williams doing all of the damage in the 1st round. Parker probably thrown and connected less than one punch and in round 2 I don’t believe Parker thrown any punches. Williams wins by TKO when Parker goes down due to a body shot at 1:04 of round 2 of 4.
8 ROUNDS – LIGHTWEIGHTS Fernando Saucedo vs. Carlos Fulgencio. Saucedo controlled the two rounds and won by TKO 1:23.
