Given the sense of urgency for both fighters, fans figure to be treated to a lot of toe-to-toe action when the two meet in a 10-round main event September 18 in Winter Park, Florida, as part of the latest Premier Boxing Champions—The Next Round fight card on Bounce TV (9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT).
Caleb Truax (25-2-2, 15 KOs) is coming off a 12th-round TKO loss to Daniel Jacobs in April, the first time in his career that the Minnesota native has been stopped. Prior to that bout, the 31-year-old Truax had scored consecutive impressive victories over Derek Ennis (unanimous decision) and Scott Sigmon (TKO)—part of his eight-fight unbeaten streak.
Fernando Guerrero (27-3, 19 KOs) enters this fight following a 10-round, split-decision victory over Abraham Han on April 18. The Dominican Republic native has faced a string of difficult opponents lately, which helps explain his 2-2 record over his last four fights. That includes a victory by unanimous decision over Raymond Gatica sandwiched between knockout losses to Peter Quillin and David Lemieux.
