This morning, WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman Saldivar, made the official presentation of the Heavyweight World Championship belt to Bermane “B. Ware” Stiverne in Mexico City.
Stiverne, who won the vacant heavyweight title last May, arrived last night to Mexico City along with the famous American promoter Don King.
This is the fourth time I visit Mexico, I feel very grateful for being here, I promise to defend my title in the best way, I want to be one of the greatest world champions, and I will always be thankful to the WBC, the best organization in the world, Stiverne said

Fabled Promoter Don King and new WBC heavyweight monarch Bermane Stiverne are breezing into Mexico City this Friday to receive the cherished green and gold belt for a monumental achievement and to visit the Basilica of Guadalupe plus other famous landmarks.
Bermane’s next fight will be against number one challenger KO artist Deontay Wilder, who’s vowing to stop the Champion. Bermane’s philosophy is akin to Don King’ oft quoted quip, which dismissively states his opponent’s chance is slim and none….and slim is out of town!
WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman says Don King is keen to earmark this fight on October 30th, the fortieth anniversary of The a Rumble in the Jungle between Ali and Foreman in Zaire. The name of the country has changed to The Democratic Republic of Congo, but Don King remains largely unchanged.
No mention yet whether the Rope a Dope will be revived or if the heavens will open and the Monsoon Season will start just after the fight.
Probably unlikely because the current possible venues for this mega clash are: Mexico City, Cancun or somewhere in beautiful and spicy Tabasco State!
