To know Shelly is to love Shelly and who doesn’t love Shelly. Shelly “Shelito” Vincent (11-0-0, 1ko) of Providence, Rhode Island has been keeping herself pretty busy. She last fought Lakeysha Williams (9-20-3) on May 31, 2014 at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut. She went off to camp and now has an upcoming fight in July at Foxwoods in Mashantucket, Connecticut. Along with her training I know she is still hopeful and is awaiting for that contract to fight and it’s one of her favorite topics, no other than Heather “The Heat” Hardy (10-0-0, 2Kos). Pattee Mak: I just want to say it’s never a dull moment when I interview you. The last time we spoke at a recent fight you mentioned to me that you were going to camp in New York for your upcoming bout scheduled on Wednesday, July 2, 2014. Now how coincidental is this, but I also know during that same time period, Heather Hardy had a scheduled fight on June 14, 2014 in Brooklyn on the undercard of Ruslan Provodnikov vs. Chris Algieri. Now if I was a betting girl and since you were in NY I’m thinking how convenient it was for you to go to the fight because if I had to put money on anything I’d say you were in Brooklyn for Hardy’s last fight ringside.
Shelito: HAVE YOU MET ME??? LOL.
Pattee Mak: Now I know there is no way that you just sat there and didn’t at least try to obtain her attention. What did you do if anything?
Shelito: Well you know I’m a #misfit an love to get a lil mischievous so oh yeah I was at ringside. I stood up on a chair in mask an started to tell HBO they picked the wrong girl for the job. Then one a her fans was like you’re a Bish Shelito… I’m like listen this is boxing… So relax an let me try to get what the fans want. Myself an HARDY. Straight Yankees vs Boston hard core brawl. (I’m a Yankees fan tho) but you dig what I’m sayin. Her sister actually came up to me saying how she respect me an what I do for woman’s boxing. An sorry for all I went through with my ma an childhood reading my article in The Ring Magazine. An agreed it’s part a the game me calling out Heather an it would be great for women’s boxing overall.
Pattee Mak: One of your recent facebook posts you stated, “Listen let’s be clear… I respect everything heather hardy has done for woman’s boxing… Her an Jackie Trivilino made history in the Barclay this past weeknd… Both as being the first females to compete there… Much respect an also history was made with that robbery… She should be doing a prison term… But I’m glad she remained undefeated… Now I do not respect her as a fighter… She lost… her last three fights in my eyes… ……”. I wasn’t present at that fight but I have heard from other individuals in the media that agree Hardy lost the fight. According to the score cards after 7 rounds it read 68–65, 67–66, 66–77 and Hardy won by a split decision in the 122-pound division. Why don’t you agree with the score card?
Shelito: Because she was getting pummeled an one more round Trivilino would a KO’d her. Also Devon waved off the fight so therefore she retired, than all a sudden then the ref calls it. Nothing was said about a head butt till after. Jackie’s corner didn’t even know what was going on. Plain an simple Heather got her ass whooped an the only thing that was HEATY was her face. That ish was on fireeeeee (in my best Alicia Keyes high notes).
Pattee Mak: You just love taunting Hardy. Did you end up going to the weigh ins?
Shelito: Oh nahhh, I’m busy training. I got work to do. Now there are some weigh in I would not miss to see some gals in a bikini. But Heathers not one.
Pattee Mak: Have you and Hardy exchange any words at the fight(s) and if so do tell.
Shelito: Oh after her fight at the ROSELAND. She gets all shaky an such. Guess she thought I got removed from the building. They just removed me from ringside to get her out the ring. I have this all on tape. Her mother even shoved me up. My mother would a done the same I respect her mother has her back like that. That’s dope. Mamma Hardy u aight. But She (HEATY) knows she does not make it out the ring with me NEW YORK knows that. Mentally I already beat her a year ago.
Pattee Mak: Has anyone tried to make this bout come about?
Shelito: Yes CES [Classic Entertainment & Sports] has tried to make the fight 3 times. I get denied each an every time it’s a oh hell to the nahhhh. With an excuse. Also my manger tried to make the fight. An we posted that on IG an the BOOK an also in the twitter streets. They don’t want it. Everyone knows this fight results in flames extinguish an Heather in deep slumber on the floor. She would need a heater, a burner, an 3 ninjas to beat me. An I mean legit ninja turtles. Leonardo, Donatello, and Raphael. Michelangelo my guy. She don’t get him.
Pattee Mak: Next up for you is July 2nd on a SMS Promotions aka 50 Cent undercard. Your opponent. A rematch against Nydia Feliciano (7-5-3) from New York. Why the rematch and did you suggest a possible bout against Hardy on this card?
Shelito: Man a course, Nydia was who they picked so I said yeah. It’s a televised card, and a lot a people will be in the arena that night. It’s a good look. Plus love 50. An I’d like to fight on any card a his I have the privilege to fight on.
Pattee Mak: You last fought Feliciano on January 19, 2013, what do you remember from the last fight that you will be doing differently during this bout?
Shelito: Now I can’t reveal my secrets. It was a very exciting fight last time. An we will ignite the crowd again this time around. I respect Nydia as a fighter. She has skill she coming to fight an I’m training HARD.
Pattee Mak: You know I so want another KO on your record. When am I going to see a knock out from you?
Shelito: I feel the strongest I ever felt. DON’T BLINK. Everyone sleep on the small frame. The kid #mighty Patts Plus my training camp out on the Bronx with the HAVOC boys an crew. My manager Rich. An also Meatball an Steve teaching me new things. They got me on point. An at home Kim an Shane Cronin got me brolic. An you know Pete working me like a damn man. The chemistry me an Pete, share is rare. He’s like a father to me. If Pete’s ever gone I’d be done. It’s like a video game. He presses the buttons, I react. He don’t give me an inch. Treats me just like the fellas. The team came full circle. An the Bronx been looking a lot like home. An definitely puttin much mileage on my car, I’m out there heavy.
Pattee Mak: Since this is a rematch, it’s in your neck of the woods, do you feel Feliciano will be coming into the fight with a vengeance?
Shelito: Of course she is. But I’m the one in the mask for the carnival a VENGEANCE. It’s not me she needs to worry about it’s those past demons, my mother, the pain. I stir that up fight night. You can’t kill what’s already dead. Every time I’m hit that beats more life into me. War an pain is all my soul knows. I’m so comfortable in chaos….
Pattee Mak: Anything you would like to say to Feliciano?
Shelito: Let’s leave em with fireworks an steal the show. #womansboxing is all that matters.
Let’s show em we deserve the respect an love the men get cause we work just as hard.

As in September, I once again ran out of gas in the 10th & 11th championship rounds of October & November with this column, but I recovered to complete them and will unleash a few more flurries to close out the 12th and final round.
In the first week of October, Hassan N’Dam won a UD over Curtis Stevens in an eliminator for the right to challenge Jermaine Taylor who defeated aging Sam Soliman to regain the IBF Middleweight title. How Taylor even earned this title shot is another story altogether, but it is all irrelevant as he is now the champion. However he will not have too much time to savor his victory as he has assault and battery charges pending against him and an upcoming court fight that may turn out to be the toughest fight of his life, just when things started to look up for him in boxing, we wish him luck.
