September 21, 2013 – Queens, New York – The Resorts World Casino held another exciting professional boxing card with 9 bouts total in front of a full packed house in attendance. The main event of scheduled 10 rounds was between Leon Moore from Brooklyn, New York, by way of Guyanna who weighed in at 121 pounds went up against another local fan favorite also from Brooklyn, New York, Rafael Vazquez. Vazquez also weighed in at 121. Both came into the ring looking tight and ready for action. Brooklyn against Brooklyn. In the beginning round Vasquez was looking good landed rights on Moore while he was in his leaning into Vasquez’s body instead of from the outside. During round 4, Moore landed a beautiful Left hook on Vazquez. Round 6 became an all out war immediately prior to the bell being rung. During round 7 the neutral corner ring post came apart which caused a delay for more than a few minutes. Moore had to be extremely happy since during the one minute rest period Moore appeared to be breathing very heavy. This break gave Moore enough of time for him to easily catch his breathe. Round 9 at 2 minutes, 27 seconds into the round Vazquez landed a devastated right upper cut then left hook that drove Moore to the canvas. The crowd was on their feet. I don’t believe there was one person sitting in their chair. Moore just laid on the canvas until the physician and the rest of the able bodies appeared in the ring. During the bout Moore appeared to have a welt under his left and right eye. Winner and champ Vazquez by KO and received his WBA Fedelatin junior featherweight title belt.

Vazquez increased his record to 9-1-0, 7 Ko’s and Moore decreased his record to 30-3-0, 24 Ko’s. I’m looking forward to seeing more of Vazquez in the future.

Co-Main Event: The USA NY State junior middleweight title was up for grabs. Local fan favorite and Brooklyn’s own Frank Galarza who also brought his cheering squad fought a ready opponent by the name of Rich Neves of New Hyde Park, New York.   Both weighed in at 154. Walking Galaza to the ring was none other than rapper “GIZ”. The fans loved Galaza and cheered for him through out the bout. During round 3 Galarza unleashed his attach on Neves with combination punches that wobbled Neves more than once. Round 4 Neves got caught with a right hand. Ref Eddie Claudio gave him the count. The fight continued but it didn’t take to long before Galarza continued with multiple punches on Neves where Claudio stopped the bout at 1 minute, 44 seconds into the round. Winner Galarza by TKO and the NYS junior middleweight champ.

Frank Galarza increased his record to 11-0-1, 7 Ko’s and Rich Neves decreased his record to 6-1-1, 3 Ko’s.
