Glen Burnie, MD (March 18, 2013) – Jake the Snake Promotions will have a total of 13 bouts as part of a stacked Olympic-style boxing card Friday, March 22 at the elegant Michaels Eighth Avenue Ballroom in Glen Burnie, MD.
The card features boxers from Maryland, Washington D.C., Virginia, North Carolina and four fighters that are traveling all the way from Ireland.
General admission tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Individual VIP tickets are $50 and $500 for a table of ten. All VIP ticketholders can enjoy gets hors d’oeurves from 7-8. Tickets are available by calling 410-375-9175. Doors open at 6:30 pm and the first fight is 8:15.
Headlining the card is a bout featuring popular heavyweight Sam Crose of the Baltimore Boxing Club and Tom Busch of Team Maryland. Both fighters are known locally and Crose trains under the watchful eye of Jake “The Snake” Smith.
In the co-feature, Courtney Feldheim of Maryland meets Katie Poplawski, a student at Georgetown University, of Washington D.C. in a 141 pound bout. Feldheim, who is also a fitness instructor at the Merritt Athletic Club, most recently fought January 19 in Salisbury, MD.
Fans will also have the opportunity to watch special attraction bouts featuring Team North Carolina’s Brandon Knox and Washington D.C. middleweight Adan Gonzalez in separate bouts. The 2012 NCBA tournament Silver Medalist, Knox is considered the best fighter traveling from the Carolinas for this first ever event. Gonzalez, a Georgetown University student who won multiple amateur tournaments, has been featured in various media outlets for his success in boxing and involvement in charitable causes.
“I hate to sound like a broken record but I really love the structure of this event,” said Promoter Jake Smith of Jake the Snake Promotions. “There are a lot of fighters out there and only a few of the tournaments feature boxers from different areas. I’m hoping to run future events like this and believe the fans will have a great time.”
