Tonight at Mohegan Sun’s Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut, Main Events and Jimmy Burchfield’s Classic Entertainment Sports (CES) promoted “Fight Night”. A portion of the fights were shown on NBC Sports Network.
The main event consisted of light heavyweights, Sergey Kovalev of Chelyabinsk, Russia vs. southpaw Gabriel Campillo of Madrid, Spain. 10 rounds of main event action style boxing were scheduled.
Round 1 and 2, Kovalev was being more aggressive in the fight and controlled both rounds. Round 3 Kovalev staggered Campillo and continued with combinations and brought Campillo to one knee. Kovalev continued and Campillo was not defending himself. Kovalev landed a right hand and that was it for Campillo. Kovalev won by TKO, 1 minute, 30 seconds into round 3.
Sergey Kovalev increased his record to 20-0-1, 17 KOs and Gabriel Campillo decreased his record to 21-5-1, 7 KOs.

Co-feature: 10 rounds – Middleweights Elvin Ayala vs. Curtis Stevens. OMG. If you missed the first round you missed the fight. Stevens exploded on Ayala. Stevens landed a left hook which brought Ayala down to the canvas. Immediately following Stevens landed a barrage of punches and unleashed his power. It only took 1 minute, 10 seconds. Then out of nowhere a fan from the audience rushed the ring. Mayhem broke out. Winner Stevens by TKO.
Female Bantamweights – Shelly “SHELITO” Vincent vs. Nydia Feliciano. Winner Vincent. Judges scored it 59-55, 58-56, 58-56 by UD.
Welterweights – Jimmy Williams vs. Noel Garcia. Winner Williams by KO, .39 seconds into round 4.
Lightweights – Ian “Iron Skin” James vs. Edwin Cotto. Winner Cotto by TKO in the 4th, 18 seconds.
Super Middleweights Marcus Upshaw vs. “MR. PROVIDENCE” Vladine Biosse. Winner by TKO, Upshaw, Round 8, 2 minutes, 25 seconds.
Super featherweights – Joseph “CHIP” Perez vs. Jason Sosa. Winner Sosa by TKO round 4, 2 minutes 10 seconds. Referee Johnny Callas called a halt to the bout.
Heavyweights – Jarrell Miller vs. Joey Dawejko. All 3 judges scored it 37-37. Draw.
