CES Boxing held “Up For Grabs“ at the Twin River Event Center, Lincoln, Rhode Island. The main event consisted of 8 rounds of the super middleweight division. Vladine Biosse vs. Joe Spina. Biosse will be defending his New England Super Middleweight title.
Spina was definitely the seasoned fighter with a total of 30 professional fights over Biosse’s 14. Round 1: Spina hits combination shots and seems to hurt Biosse but Biosse stays on his feet. Round 2: No matter what Biosse does Spina keeps on smiling after being hit by Biosse’s punches. Round 3: Both men come out strong. Round 4: Biosse connecting with some strong lefts and rights. Spina looks hurt. WHAT A GREAT ROUND. Biosse can’t seem to drop Spina. Spina fights back. Round 6: Spina appears to be tired. Biosse being more of the aggressive fighter coming forward and out punching Spina. Round 7: Biosse and Spina exchanged multiple punches. This is an all out war. Biosse appears to be still light on his feet.
Winner Biosse by UD. Judges scored it 78-74, 78-74 and 79-73
Biosse increased his record to 13-1-1 and Spina decreased his record to 26-3-2.

Richard Gingras vs. Terrance Smith. Winner Smith by TKO at the end of round 2 at the conclusion Referee Eddie Claudio causes a halt to the fight due to an injury.
Richard Starnino vs. Paul Gonsalves. Judges scored it 40-37; 39-37, 39-37. Winner Gonsalves by UD.
Alex Amparo vs. Luis Felix. Judges scored it 40-36, 40-36 and 39-37. Winner Amparo by UD.
Thomas Falowo vs. Samuel Clarkson. This was a tough fight for both opponents and a big upset in the judges scorecards. Judges scored it 57-56 Clarkson, 58-55 Falowo and 57-56 Clarkson. Winner by SD Clarkson.
Mike Wilson vs. Joseph Rabotte. Winner Wilson by MD. Judges scored it 40-36, 39-37 and 38-38.
Shelito Vincent vs. Carmen Cruz. Winner Vincent by UD. All 3 judges scored it 40-36.
Joe Gardner vs. Julio Garcia. Winner Garcia by UD. Judges scored it 40-34, 40-34, 39-35.
Kevin Cobbs vs. Kentrell Claiborne. Winner Cobbs by UD. All 3 judges scored it 36-37.
Zack Ramsey vs. Alan Beeman [Ramsey’s made his pro debut and looked extremely comfortable in the ring and toying with his opponent.] Winner Ramsey 37 seconds into round 3 by TKO.
As in September, I once again ran out of gas in the 10th & 11th championship rounds of October & November with this column, but I recovered to complete them and will unleash a few more flurries to close out the 12th and final round.
In the first week of October, Hassan N’Dam won a UD over Curtis Stevens in an eliminator for the right to challenge Jermaine Taylor who defeated aging Sam Soliman to regain the IBF Middleweight title. How Taylor even earned this title shot is another story altogether, but it is all irrelevant as he is now the champion. However he will not have too much time to savor his victory as he has assault and battery charges pending against him and an upcoming court fight that may turn out to be the toughest fight of his life, just when things started to look up for him in boxing, we wish him luck.
