“Hammerin” Hank Lundy NABF Lightweight Champ!

If you missed this past Friday Night Fights (April 1, 2011) on ESPN2 you missed some exciting bout card action. Boxing was held live at the Fox Theatre, Foxwoods Resort and Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut, United States. This event titled “Coming Attractions” was promoted by Jimmy Burchfield’s Classic Entertainment and Sports (CES). “Hammerin” Hank Lundy (20-1-1) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania fought against Patrick Lopez (20-4-0) of Londonderry, New Hampshire in a 10 round main event for the NABF lightweight title. Both Lopez and Lundy fought an amazing 10 rounds with punches being worked from every angle. But in the end it all came down to the Judges. The final scorecards announced were 99-91, 97-92 and 95-94 giving the title to “Hammerin” Hank Lundy.

“Mr. Providence” Vladine Biosse (11-0-0) fought against Tim Connors (10-3-0) in a co-feature main event in the super middleweight division. Biosse landed a right hand into the 5th round, which delivered a powerful punch and sent Connors to the mat. The referee started the count and halted the bout at 37 seconds into the match giving the TKO victory to Biosse.

Elvin Ayala (22-5-1) fought against Joe Gardner (7-2-1) in a 6 round fight in the super middleweight division. Ayala won by TKO at the end of round four.

Greg “Quietstorm” McCoy (2-3-1) fought against Tafari Lawton (2-1-1) in the super middleweight division. Lawton won by unanimous decision.

Rick Dawson (3-0-0) fought against J.C. Peterson (1-10-0) in a 4 round fight in the super middleweight division. Dawson won by unanimous decision.

Christian Lao (1-0-0) fought against Theo Desjardin (0-1-0) in a 4 round fight in the lightweight Division marking this fight their professional debut. Lao knocked out Abraham 1:21 minutes into the 1st round.
