He’s Back! Angel “Nito” Vazquez

He’s Back! Angel “Nito” Vazquez

By Pattee Mak

I had the pleasure to speak with Angel Vazquez of Hartford, Connecticut concerning his past, his present and his future endeavors concerning the world of boxing.

Vazquez started his professional debut at the age of 25 at Foxwoods Resort in Mashantucket, Connecticut. Vazquez continued to fight in the United States and once in the United Kingdom for 21 straight impressive wins, 16 coming by way of knock outs from 1994 through 2000. During that time period Vazquez held more than one title belt. He was the NABA Featherweight Title Champion, WBO Latino Featherweight Title Champion and twice he was the USBA Featherweight Title Champion. Previous to his professional boxing career his amateur record was 23-0.

After his 21 straight wins Vazquez had three additional fights which consisted of 1 win and 2 losses. His last fight was back in November 2003 at the Desert Diamond Casino in Tucson, Arizona. His opponent was changed at the last minute and he ended up fighting against Ivan Valle. Vazquez fought hard against Valle but after a short left uppercut in round 3, Vazquez didn’t get up from the 10 count. It’s unfortunate because all his training and preparation for this fight was geared towards a different opponent.

After this last fight Vazquez decided he was retiring from Boxing. He didn’t know what he was going to do with his future. He was having bad luck with his manager, his training wasn’t up to par and he just needed a change.

But all that has changed. Presently Vazquez is coming out of retirement and ready to get in the ring once again. He has a large Latino fan base. His fellow boxers and his boxing fans are getting excited about Vazquez change of heart. Vazquez is back, willing and ready for anyone who wants to give him a title shot. They just need to name the time and the place.

When I visited with Vazquez at the Jeffrey Dressler Center fka San Juan Community Center in Hartford, Connecticut you can feel the vibe that Vazquez puts out concerning his training. It is old school. He is back in the gym training extremely hard five days a week along with road work 2 days a week. You can tell he wants this. The sweat on his face. The movements from bag to bag. Just watching him was exhausting enough. I wanted to put on my sweats and have him show me a thing or two. His new and present trainer, George Cruz along his father, Angel Vazquez, Sr. keeps Vazquez very busy His training is now being taken to a higher level along with Vazquez’s own wisdom. He doesn’t fear anyone and is looking forward to getting back in the ring soon to show his fans what he is all about.

His new manager, Michael Moore of Connecticut is excited and thrilled to be working with Vazquez. He believes its an honor and privilege to be his manager. Moore is currently discussing different opportunities to put Vazquez on upcoming cards. A promoter hasn’t been decided on yet but Moore has a few in mind.

I’m very excited to see Vazquez in his office, the ring and very thankful for having the opportunely to conduct this interview.

I am Mrs Alison Woods from Russia. I have been a victim of scam.
I have been looking for a loan online for the past 3 years and I lost
over 36,000 Great Britain Pounds and I never got a loan till I found a company
called Global Edge Financial company who gave me my loan of 250000 Great Britain Pounds after paying for the bank transfer cost.
If you are looking for a legit lender I will advise you contact me so that I give you their contact address. There are many fake lenders online asking for so many fees such as
Bank transfer fee, Insurance fee, Activation fee, Tax fee, Opening of
account fees, Non Residential fee, loan origination fee. All these
charges are only means of extracting money from you. All you pay for is
the bank transfer fee. (C.O.T), I do not want you to go through the
pains I went through with people in Africa, United Kingdom, Malaysia,
India, and Spain. I will be very happy to put you in the right track.
