Former English light welterweight titlist Scott Haywood makes his return to the ring on the undercard of the Chris Edwards vs. Ahmed Usman British flyweight title clash on Friday, May 29 in Stoke, England.

Haywood, 19-3 (4), was last seen in the squared circle at Barnsley Metrodome in February during an unsuccessful bid to unseat world rated Commonwealth king Ajose Olusegun.

The lanky 6 footer saw a seven bout win streak snapped against Olusegun and will now look to get back on the horse in a six rounder at Stoke's Fenton Manor Sports Complex.

Fast-rising Beibut Shumenov ready for Erdei or Garay

Seminole Warriors Boxing latest signing; Cestus Management's Super-Middleweight, Don "DA BOMB" George, sensationally returned to the ring by blasting out Mike Walthier in one minute and forty-five seconds of the first round.

As soon as the bell rang George, got down to business peppering Walthier with hard jabs and a fast combination to the head and body. As the round went on, George followed up a stiff jab with a thudding right-hand shot that sent Walthier reeling into the ropes. World Rated Lightweight Edner Cherry Eager to Tangle with Edwin Valero

Tampa, Florida – After being notified that the highly regarded Anthony Peterson pulled out of their February 21 fight with an injury, Edner Cherry was left a disappointed and dejected fighter. Hungry to stop the unbeaten Peterson and at the peak of his training camp, Cherry was forced to go back to the drawing board.

“It was a big let down because I trained so hard for the fight”, said Cherry, who dropped a decision to unified Junior Welterweight champion Timothy Bradley in September. “These type of opportunities don’t come very often and it is unfortunate that the fight didn’t go through.”

PHILIPPINES -- The threat of the Petition of Injunction with TRO, for me, is the primordial reason why boxing great Manny Pacquaio helter-skelter cowered back to the folds of his boxing franchiser Solar Sports and T.V program partner GMA-7 here in the Philippines.

Even though the Pacman has signed a new contract with the bigger ABS-CBN network –in patent violation of his contract with Solar Sports to air all his boxing matches up to May 6, 2011 – either Solar and GMA TV Networks (despite GMA weak contractual arguments) can still spoil the May 2, 2009 Pacquiao-Hatton match not to be shown at ABS-CBN TV.

The wisdom of the TRO or the Writ of Preliminary Injunction is to preserve the rights of either GMA or Solar. The one who would be at the receiving end on this legal stand-off would be the acrimonious Filipino masses who could not watch the fight, and Pacquiao -- who’s.. click here
